So now that I am looking into wheel sets I have a few questions. I wanted to get the H Plus Son Archetype rims, when I look on Velomine They run about $200 with Orgin8 (Formula) hubs. Now if I go to my local shop they will build the wheel for me with Gran Compe hubs and white spokes but it will run me around $400. I have no problem with supporting my LBS, in fact I would prefer to do so, but when the price difference is this much I have to question it. It is worth spending the extra for the Gran Compe hubs and custom wheel build?

Scrod,
Can you share the pic of santa in the tub that's on facebook? There's no way that's going under the radar.
Happy holidays man.

FWIW - your LBS is overcharging.

I don't mind paying for better quality, but if the difference isn't much between the sets I would rather spend that money on other bike parts

Would I be better off just getting a prebuilt wheelset? Something like https://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=858 or the one I mentioned before?

Ive got 17mm Velox on mine. As long as the spoke holes are covered, it doesn't really matter.

That's what I thought, but couldn't remember if there was a size between 17mm and 22mm. Thanks.

I bought 17mm Zefal because 19mm was not available from either Zefal or Velox and I have never tried Zefal.

You'll be ok. Zefal and Velox are pretty much exactly the same.
