Yes, every company needs to make a profit to survive in any economy. However, Superb's markup - especially on rebranded products they claim to be their own - is much higher than it needs to be. They're selling hype and bull****.
This being said, if you want to be a Superb fanboy and support their overinflated prices, I'll still sleep soundly.

I'm not affiliated no, but I am a fan of privately owned local business and I think you have little knowledge on cost, margin, and longevity. I'm a customer of both Scrod's and Superb. I prefer Scrod's prices. Nagrom and the like are children, caught a peak behind the curtain, and freaked out. These markups are completely ordinary.

No regrets there, completely comfortable with the price I paid. I do find it painful to sit back and watch a seemingly important member of a small to medium sized sub-forum, of a slightly larger overall forum, completely trash a company because they think it charges "too much". Congratulations on your internet success. I would love to see if your business acumen translates to real life. Haha.

I don't quite understand what you're missing. It's not markup... its markup on markup...
It's a 700 dollar price tag on a 350 dollar retail product that wholesales much less than that.

You're either saying this because
A: you've got a money tree in your yard and don't give a single **** about how much you pay for things
or
B: you bought it before you realized you could drive 30 minutes outside the city and save yourself 250-300 bucks and you're trying to make yourself feel okay about it
Dude, you're a fool. My shop does just as well "in real life" as we do on the internet.

Nag also knows what he's talking about and I stand by my opinion of Superb being a ripoff.
Can we stop talking about this crap in my thread now? Thanks.

Good.
1. Will clips and straps mar up my new running shoes, or should I use an older pair.
2. Have you ever had to mess with a one bolt hold everything in place and hope it doesn't move as you tighten it Look seatpost?
3. If so, were you succussful?

Then return it and get the right one. Works on four AND five arm cranks. Quite neat and handy.

I'm getting a weird noise from my bike when I'm riding it, I just noticed it in the past 2 months, but just said it was probably the chain and needed lubing, but it hasnt stopped yet. I've narrowed it down to the rear of the bike, closer to the hub, but it could be the chain. Im not sure how to explain the noise other than it sounds like if you were scratching those mesh pencil cups you can buy at staples.
Sorry for being really vague about it, I just have no idea how to explain it.

No its not tight, theres some slack, I feel a little bit of movement when im stopped and i put my foot on the pedals and shift it back and forth, I heard that was okay to have and that having a really tight chain isn't a good thing. It could be that my rear hub is loose again, it just sounds different this time, but i'll go and check it out

have you only lubed the chain? many times, lubing the chain isn't enough. you have to take it off and clean it first. otherwise, the gunk could stay.

it probably is time to clean the chain, I'll probably have time next week to do it, I actually havent cleaned the chain at all so this may be the problem as the rear end of my bike is getting dirty from riding on wet pavement
