I can remove the cups, but would probably ask you to remove the crown race (don't have proper tool, charge any labor as necessary). As to the stem, I'll use my old one as well as the seatpost. My plan was to transfer all the parts from the Vilano back to the naranja, except for the seatpost which the wrong size and use the one from the Cretin. That way the crappyness factor will be consistent with the respective framesets. Many of the parts currently on the Vilano, such as the Lasco cranks, came originally from the naranja. The eventual plan for the Vilano frameset after complete teardown is the dumpster.

I won't mind knocking the old cups out and pressing in the new ones for you when I do the crown race (free of charge). You've been a regular customer of ours and it's appreciated. :thumb:

I bought the dolan precursa frameset [integrated headset] which comes with the Alpina track fork (30mm rake, not drilled for brakes). I also have a nashbar road fork [43mm rake] from a previous build I parted out.
I was thinking of selling Alpina and the nashbar and just buying one of the Leaders so I can have a fork drilled for a brake and also have the more aggressive rake.

Got a recommendation for a ladies saddle that's good for an aggressive position but doesn't sacrifice comfort? Figured there's a chance you'd know since you've been domesticated. Something a little wider for a nice, healthy rump.

The 2015 I805 fork has a tapered steerer and is only available when you but a 725 or 735 frameset (which we no longer carry because the new integrated seatpost clamp is prone to cracking). The I803 fork is good for the money and a lot more sleek that Leader's previous carbon forks.

Correction: I noticed the I805 for sale separately on Leader's site but it won't work on any frame having a standard 1 1/8" head tube.

I'm 100 % sure I met you (Scrod) this morning and hassled you for axle spacers. Which axleually solved most of the chain tension problem. Things got real tight climbing back up from the beach. I have a 2015 725, and reading this made me sad. Where/What causes it to crack? Have you had any reports of it cracking? Thanks!

I was wondering why the 725 and 735 disappeared from the RG website, but am not surprised that this might be a problem when you try to stress aluminum that way. This was a problem with the old Bianchi Pista Concept, which is why Bianchi went to a separate collar on the new Super Pista. I'm very very very careful when I tighten the seatpost clamp bolt on my Pista Concept.

Every single one we sold to local customers ended up cracking at the bottom cut of the seatpost clamp. Our sponsored rider Bojac cracked three of them (the third one lasting only about 20 miles).

We're not hating on Leader in any way but naturally had to pull these frames from the shop and our site to prevent further customer issues.

I just discovered a seatpost collar crack while working on a customer's Pista Concept a few days ago. He was really bummed when I showed him.

i know you wouldnt have any at the shop, but would you be able to find out if a size M Surly ECR has bottle bosses on the bottom of the downtube (ie 3 on the frame, aside from the ones on the fork)

surly website says xs-m has 2, and l-xxl has 3, yet ive seen pictures on the internet machine of mediums that have 3

i emailed surly but noones gotten back to me, and i know you got more avenues of communication than i know of

Lack of stress relief, that's a design flaw...
If leader had the inner ends of the seatclamp slots drilled or made more circular, stress concentration cracking would not be an issue.

Oh jeez. When it happens, I doubt I'd want to go through the hassle/shipping charges of the warranty... Thanks for the heads up!

It probably varies, but how many miles do you think it takes for that to happen?

Scrod, I'm going to buy tires today, and I'm wondering if you have a preference between the panaracer ribmo and tserv. I know you like the pasela, but I don't think the tan sidewall will look good on my bike. I'll be using them to commute.
