Hey Scrod,
Who is making the best replacement 6000 Bearings these days? I like to keep a few sets in my toolbox/parts box. I used to get them from Applied Technology here in Cleveland, but they no longer have a "walk up" counter. |

Wheels Mfg make damn fine bearings. That's what I usually have on hand at the shop.
Ah ok, cool. Enduros. Nice. |
Whoa "Ask Scrod" threads are still here. That's pretty cool.
How's the move to the west coast been? I heard your name come up when a lot of dealers dropped Leader recently (not here to stir the pot) and felt I had to log back in and see if BFSSFG was still the same squad. |
Hey man, hope yer doing ok.
|
|
dude, the left coast has been rough on you. good to know youre not holding any punches out there
|
hi Scrod.
what's your recommendation on the widest + rugged-est-ish tubular tire? |
Scrod,
i have andel standard track cranks but I need a 48t chainring. I can pickup an Omnium chainring for super cheap but I know they are beefier than most. Will it sit flush on spider and can I use my existing chainring bolts? tia jeff |

That's what I was going to suggest! Our sponsored rider Bojac uses them on his track wheels (the SD Velodrome has a pretty rough outdoor surface). Those same wheels occasionally see street use and they hold up very well.
copy that. thanks very much! also many thanks to TejanoTrackie, sir! |
Newbie question...
Bottom bracket thread size is always a common spec given for frames, but why is the length (spindle length, correct?) of the frame's not usually given? Is there a rule of thumb for buying a bottom bracket for a frame you don't have in front of you to measure the spindle length? |

TT, can I have my thread back?
|
Scrod do you know the rake for the mondial track fork? Also can you sell them separately.
|
know of any 36h 650b rims that are 30-35mm wide like the Velocity BluntSS but come in silver? msw/nmsw doesnt matter
unless that rim combo actually does come in silver and the Velocity site is a lie. |
