I think Cinelli just put that disclaimer on there because for the same reason lawnmowers come with a giant sticker instructing to keep your hands out of them - because people are dumb. They most likely just don't want to deal with everyone trying to get replacements if their raw steel frames eventually start turning colors. |
+1
we have one from the first batch of 60 that went out and it looks just the same as it always did |
Question on stems....
I currently have a single-speed "rain bike" with bullhorns. Its stem is 110mm and 7 degrees. I feel the reach is a bit too much since I can feel the tendons ache in my shoulder and elbow. I don't have this issue with my road bike (same frame size, just with drops) I'd rather keep the bullhorns on the SS and wanted to know if I went with a shorter stem, would the degrees also change. If so, how do I decide on what stem to get 100mm or 90mm or....is it better to go to a LBS and have them figure it out for me? Thanks Scrod! :) |
It's common to use a shorter stem with bullhorns than you would with other bars so I'm thinking 110mm is much too long. The only way to really get it right is through trial and error. Maybe a local shop has some used stems laying around they'd be willing to let you experiment with?
Next time you ride, try to imagine having your hands 10mm, 20mm, 30mm or 40mm closer. You should be able to get a feel for what seems right and go from there. |
Are those Supercheap FWs any good? looks just like the Excess

Are you really asking about the quality of a $2 freewheel?
To reiterate: it's a freewheel that costs two dollars. |

So you're saying its totally a quality product, right? I can't tell if you're laying the sarcasm on really thick or not.

They must be twice as good as the dollar cogs.
i feel pretty safe, given I didn't know $2 cogs existed, and I am betting $1 cogs would be impossible to find, both new. |

Proud dollar cog owner here. You can donate my $5 to charity or buy 2.5 freewheels with it.

Our site sold $1 cogs before you were around. I used one on the shop errand/beater bike for about two years - on a suicide hub, no less.

Hey, Scrod. New site looks awesome!
I noticed no Colossi frames. Are you done carrying them? |

Thanks Scrod! Is there a magic(calculator) behind the "degrees" if I got shorter or could I just go with 7, which is what I have now, then experiment going shorter?
Many thanks and happy Sunday! :D Stack and reach calculator |

Scrod, do you have any photos of an old Bareknuckle build you did that had townie bars w/ track grips? I see the image previews in a Google search but the photos aren't accessible on Photobucket. Thanks.
