Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? The BEFORE and AFTER Thread

I've spent numerous hours searching for a thread like this, assuming there was already one in the single speed/fixed section. To my surprise I could not come up with any results. With that said, sorry if there is in fact one somewhere out there. Even so, it has to be pretty old and inactive... so why not start a new one.

As the title states I would really like to see before and after pictures of fellow members bikes. The changes are usually pretty drastic and intriguing in my opinion, so lets see how far your bike has come over the years!

I'm trying to get a new full pic of my bike before posting, so that will be added later on. With that said, post away

I definitely do because I remember NateRod posting pics of his old Pake all tarcked out with pink grips and green wheels, then a pic of his newer tarcked out Pake.

I love when people start pic threads without posting pics.

Why does every thread have to have the word "thread" in it?

Please stop this.

Predefining your thread as the definitive thread is presumptuous at best and obnoxious at worst.

Sorry the word "thread" irks your nerve... I named it for what it is. Pretty straight forward and non subjective in my intentions.

I dont have full pics of the bike since recent changes, but ill post what I do have and add more later on.

The Response to the "Why does every thread have to have the word 'thread' in it?" response:

No, you didn't name it for what it is. You gave it a pseudo-official title in order to somehow make your thread the official thread of this type.

If you want to make a great thread, make a thread and make it a good one. Don't make a thread and define that it's great in the title and try to trick people into thinking it's a great thread. It's subtle, but I see what you did and I called you out on it. You aren't the only one to do this but hopefully you are the last.

And...every thread is a thread. You know this, right?

You can only assumes one's intentions good sir, you don't know me or how I came to terms with my thread title.

I'm the one to catch the heat... using my thread to get all nit picky is like drawing a number between 1-10, but you could have chose the next guy to post a thread title like so for you to express your feelings. Or even the endless recent examples before me "cinelli appreciation thread"... just carry on.

This will always be prevalent on forums no matter the subject, so its just a matter of when you'll accept it and move on.
just how it is.

/thread hi-jack and back to the pics

I think what bothers me more is your "deal with it" attitude.

Yeah, I did single this thread out, but like you said, it was simply luck of the draw. You really didn't have to reply to my short rant. But since you did...

Back on topic...

Just kidding. I'll stop the hijacking. I gotta ride the trainer tonight anyway.

I liked the Cobb more than LOTS of other saddles that I tried.
