Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: GT Outpost, $100 MTB SS conversion, GT Gutterball

Original, as found.

Before brake levers.

Stem brake

Custom drilled brake levers to fit 1" bar.

Bar and saddle change.

Currently, with fenders and pedal change.

I'm itching to remove the fenders and the rear brake.

Interesting idea, but I'd turn the lever upside down so you can pull it up toward the bar instead of pushing down away from the bar. Much easier to modulate and shorter cable run as well.

Thanks, andrizzle. The bike is a bit too big but it's my first build and the frame was available. I prefer flatbars but my commuter has a very slight riser bar.

But yeah, just envision my post being a whole lotta rusty conversions. And occasional weld burns.

There was a before and after thread, thread before this one. It must be lost in translation. Likely locked. Remember it being titled before and after thread, to be honest. Early this yearish.

tl;dr
Joke
Shoddy camera work.
Ramblin about yesterdays.
