i've had the spicer track (aluminum) frame for about 5 months or so now and i couldn't be happier. it rides amazing. it has aggressive geometry, 75 degree headtube and 75 degree seat tube, so it sprints well and is quick handling. with the spicer track fork, the head tube angle actually is about 76 degress. i have a steamroller as well (which i love as well, kmart my butt) and you can definately tell the difference in geometry. i'm about to order a new wheelset from gene and will probably go to him for just about everything fixed gear/track specific. i cant say enough about gene, he rules, i've never had customer service like his before. and from folks i've spoken with, if something on one of his bikes break, he's extremely fair when it comes to repairing whatever is the problem. this weekend i'm helping a friend of mine build up her spicer (her bike is going to be so hot). hopefully, if i ever get a disposable camera i'll post pics of my spicer and hers.

infestedguy,
I was wondering how long it was going to take you to jump in here. I know how you love your Spicer. I was starting to worry about you. I'm glad to know you are still alive.

you're quite welcome. i'm about to take a "break" myself. back on topic though. gene doesn't run his shop alone by the way. his partner, jessica, is also amazing. i spoke with her on numerous occassions when i was buying the frame. i think she does a lot of the grunt work that oftentimes goes unappreciated and should be given props if we're talking about spicer cycles.

Hey SS/FGers, just reviving this thread to comment on the great experience I recently had with Spicer Cycles. Without going into too much boring detail, I was in need of a fairly unique component fabricated for a project I'm (continuously) working on and contacted Spicer through there website spicercycles.com.
After sending an email inquiring as to the feasibility of such a project, my message was responded to almost immediately by the owner of the company, Gene Spicer. Gene was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions in a kind & intelligent manner. We had exchanged several emails when I found out that my boss was friends with a skilled frame-builder that lives only a few miles from my home. For convenience sake I've decided to pursue the project with the local builder, but I will Defiantly be doing business with Spicer Cycles in the future.
