OP, not many tires come in a wide variety of colors, however many quality tires do some in SOME color(s).
if you tell us what color tire you are after (since black is apparently not what you want) then maybe we can be more helpful. grand prix 400's come in a few colors, and have come in many more over the years if you search ebay http://www.coloradocyclist.com/img/p...c/cntfaxy2.jpg |

What is up with new people asking for advice and not taking any of it. We might as well just troll them all, all the time.

I think I see where this is going...
|
It is my understanding that colored tires are made of a compound that is grippier but less durable. Myth? Perhaps.

http://www.bike24.de/images/products/p01438.jpg more grip on the outer tread for cornering, more durable on the center strip and sidewalls. |
fwiw... when I said colored tires suck I meant crap like these:
http://fish.smugmug.com/photos/1284835-M.jpg I think tires like Scrod posted above look great. |
Rubinos are actually a really good tire. The ones I had a couple of years ago started to separate where the colored rubber meets the black center (thatsracist.gif) but I think they corrected that on newer models. Angie hasn't had any issues with her celeste Rubinos.

Yes, "look" is most important to me. Surprise, some people want a ride they can look good on. Why I came to you guys is to find out if I could get quality along with it.
I can't really understand what's wrong or funny about wanting a bike that looks like the photo I'm posting. If it is then I'm clearly in the wrong place and why would I stick around? I left the thread because people were completely ignoring the part about me looking for tires that look good in addition to being good quality. Why aren't there tires that do both? But thank you wearyourtruth and scrodzilla. You guys threw in 2 links that were helpful. Rubinos and Grad Prix 400 seem worth looking into. |
Wow. That's a really red bike.

FWIW, that all red bike looks like crap. |
Vredestein Ricorsos. I just like saying that. Makes me feel bikey.

hey redpear, fyxation sessions look nice.
how do they hold up? |
|
there's a few more shades of (ass)candy red that aren't on that bike yet...
|
awesome, can't wait for the streets to be covered in vomit
|
Hmm, red is my favorite color too, but that bike wound up looking rattle-canned...
|
i didn't read any of the shenanigans but here's my 2 cents:
gatorskins - durable, nice ride specialized armadillos - more durable than gatorskins (my subjective opinion) but not as nice a ride. schwalbe duranos - like them the most, seem real durable, ride real nice fyxation - expensive but actually real quality. feel grippy. |
