That's Gregs bike, he races the SS category on that thing. It's even better looking in person, the lug work is rediculous.

He also has an amazing track bike that he races on.

Skyscraper threaded-to-threadless conversion. Not liking that. The lugs are a bit too ornate for me as well.

Minor gripes aside, I really love everything about it. The cranks+chainring with those hubs is gorgeous. Some salmon brake pads would really set it off.

Are you sure? That doesn't look like a conversion. It looks like a stack of spacers under the nut of a threaded fork with a regular quill stem.

The white lugs are killing it for me. Just not my personal asthetic.

Looks like a painted Nitto lugged quill stem. The way he painted it makes it look like a threadless setup.

They're quite tall.

I think you are correct. I hadn't looked closely enough. The unpainted quill portion along with the painted stem portion threw me.

Kinda what I thought.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Edit: From their website "Solid threaded axles are graced with bronze axle nuts to draw attention to the beauty of the hub. "

So Bronze is harder but still seems kinda soft. I am sure White Ind. know what they are doing.

I'm waiting for an email from them right now. I asked earlier if they could be purchased separately.

Definitely a case of form > function, but probably no stupider than aluminum spoke nipples and chainring bolts.

Huminah Huminah Huminah, Aoooga Aooooga Boing Boing Boing!

That thing is perfect (aside from the odd stem area). Waterford's are cash money and this one is no exception. Green lugged frame, Dugast tubs and WI freehweels what more could you want?

^^^ The closeup photos in the link look superb. Very nice bike.

I just noticed that the frame is lugged except for the seat cluster, interesting.

That's due to the internally routed rear brake. The cable exits the seatcluster between the seat stays. He move the seatpost clamp up to the seatpost wouldn't conflict with the cable. Super clean.

I would like to know where exactly the cable housing ends and how it's terminated.

I don't think there's any cable housing, per se. There is probably a small steel tube with a nylon tube inside it that is routed inside the top tube and soldered on the ends to keep it in place.

Wait, so the seat post can only down as far as the cable?

There is a housing stop where is enters the top tube. Just a small tube with liner from there on.
