rex615, I love the pics of the little towns and buildings that look like they come out of the 1920's.

I rode 25 miles. Was windy and cold but the dogs were friendly.

Tonight this bicycle had it's last ride of the year before hibernation...

...hopefully I'll have a new wheelset laced for it by the time spring arrives.

Quintessential pic for the wifey (taking a break from my aspiring LEO mindset for a year, so don't mind the scummy facial hair):

EDIT: I just realized my bar angle is a little off.

Nice pics, thanks for posting.

I know those roads very, very, very well.

Will be headed up to Leucadia and back from my apt tomorrow morning before I go and eat+drink back everything I burned in the AM.

Also its weathering relatively hard lately. It was in the upper 30's today, and its going to be below freezing tomorrow on Hamilton.

Muffin Man 11-25-15 07:55 PM

That photo looked way better on my phone...

SpeshulEd 11-25-15 08:07 PM

Still looks pretty awesome (and painful) to me.

This photo reminds me of a comment made by a friend once about a similar pitch,
"That climb was fierce, I saw Elvis on the way up and Jesus on the way down."

A fantastic day to be on the bike in North Georgia.

It was about 53° at 9AM and warmed to 67° by noon. After all the upgrades and detailing and money spent the Bianchi just wanted to run and so I let it off it's leash.

Headed through a few small towns and into the countryside...

Acworth, Georgia, one of the towns burned by Sherman in the summer of 1864.

Near the Allatoona Battlefield, on the side of the road, an unknown confederate soldier. The grave was discovered by railroad workers laying new track in the background.

On my way back, as it was getting dark, there were two bulls (almost as big as this one) on either side of the road bellowing at each other. I had to go between them, all the time thinking, those little strands of barb wire aren't going to hold these behemoths if they decide to fight. Don't want to have to do that again.

I'm always disturbed by 3-D Marge Simpson, because her hair looks like an enormous blue raspberry.

^^^I really like that paint job.

SCK 11-28-15 02:59 PM

The absurdity of it is it's charm. I also really enjoy riding this thing.

jacobversus 11-28-15 03:31 PM

My next frameset will be a HeavyPedal I think. They're awesome

SCK 11-28-15 03:39 PM

jacobversus I'd recommend it highly. Photos (especially quick snaps from the cell phone) hardly show how insane that paint is. The fades from pink into orange are perfect. I never carry the "big camera" with me on rides, except for when I took it on assignment for a slow ride to check out local art.

If you wanted a custom color frame just get the Colossi Al Colossione frame. Colossi makes the frames for HeavyPedal & Superb [all the same frame]. I do love the HP color scheme, but if you wanted something unique order it with custom paint from a Colossi retailer. Al Colossione | Colossi Cycling

It was only that snowy for about 400ft. The rest of the way had some sunlight, so it was only light patches of frost and snow on the sides of the road, and not on the actual road itself. The descent was pretty brutal though. I definitely need to invest in a neck gaiter or something so my lips don't die as much as they are right now.
