if im outside im happy, if im on a bike im happy, add the two together and im a happy camper. im miserable all day just sitting around at work, i get up and walk around campus as much as i can get away with
|
Anyone that spends that much time on a bike in the cold, mud, and snow deserves some recognition, at least in my book! I love being outside and on the bike, just not when it's cold.
On the upside, my trainer time this winter has definitely helped my fitness level. I made it to the summit of South Mountain two minutes faster than my previous PR. I was all excited about that and then read about your day...totally put my day to shame. |

Ya'll gotta watch it though. Lighting the fuse and blowing up every weekend is an injury waiting to happen. Ask my how I know... http://forums.catholic.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

yes, i definitely do not recommend completely destroying yourself every weekend. it took me a long time to figure out a level that i can ride and not just want to absolutely die by the end of the day

from our ride today.... still waiting to get my SS back from the powdercoater so i've been riding the Trek a lot more lately

Coffee outside is always the right choice in the morning. especially when you have such a pornographic spot to go. goddamn. ****ing california. |
Yeah, pretty ****ing blessed to live here. This spot feels like you're secluded from everyone on the edge of the world, looking across some vast expanse towards civilization... but it's only about a 45 minute ride from my apartment.

i certainly make the best of what i have, which isnt much since im not supposed to be riding in most of the places i ride. but i have a problem with authority, so **** that ****.
its really my visit to SF @ 15y/o that is just burned in my mind, im pretty confident that ill end up living somewhere in CA at some point of my life |
I haven't been in ages, but I agree that the Bay Area - and central/northern CA more generally - is incredibly pretty (though I'm sure living in SF proper is every bit as annoying as living in NYC).

for a guy like me its like ground zero for a good time, you have access to a major city, mountains, desert, endless beautiful beach, and yosemite all within a days drive

I've got a spare bedroom (as long as you don't mind curling up between 5 bikes and a repair stand and a huge pile of spare parts) that's all yours!

Also, are those Cazaderos? My Nanos are going to wear out soon, been looking for the next best thing. Thinking about those or Bruce Gordons. |

i have the sunrace 11-40 on the fatbike, the jumps are nice and even. my only issue is my chainring is too low for most of what ive been doing but for legit singletrack its great
ive never had a bike with gears that low before, a week ago i did the hardest climb in the area and i think i still had 3 or 4 more cogs i didnt need

I put a couple thousand miles on the rock n roads and they were a much better tire.
