Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Nice, thanks! I recall the Microtex I bought having a soft, plush feel/look to it, whereas yours looks shiny and leathery; is that just from use, or is that the way it looked when you bought it?

I'm not sure how accurate the strava apps max speed is, but I can tell you I was terrified.

It was pretty much like that when I bought it. I think some of the finish and feel varies between different colors with this tape, so that could explain it...

I'll continue the ride + ride data trend!

My Strava ride got cut short but total for this morning was 11mi and 1700ft at 13.5mph.

Love the climbing ability of this bike. Surprising for a fixed gear.

Tomorrow I will be breaking her in with a 60 mile / 3500 ft paradise run with hawk hill. Will be a blast with the good weather underway. Too bad the rest of the week is rain. Gotta get it in before the storm!

hmm mine is very leathery looking too I'd say, far from soft too. basically gloves required

found a couple photos online of me during last weekends sufferfest.

hard climb is hard. i have gears envy here.

2/3 of the way through the race you exit a forest hell onto a fast paved section. all the photos from this section everyone is smiling haha
