Riding brakeless on trails is idiotic if you aren't comfortable with the trails, I do these all the time on my cross/mtb so I know when it gets too steep to ride or when it will get too much. I had to walk about half of this decent cause it dropped to like a 16% grade downhill that I was locking up the rear and gaining speed, did like a 20ish mile road ride after about a 15 mile trail ride today, too much fun.

Took the wabi out for a little spin today and found a rad lookout near my apartment that I had no idea existed.

Shreddin' that brown pow pow at Chubb Trail. Nice combination of techy and steep climbs, wicked downhills, and flowy smooth dirt.

WOOF! how many feets is that?
the water looks so nice i wanna jump in from the beach. |
Apparently about 65 metres/211 feet. The water does look tropical but it's Lake Ontario so still cold as ****. It's only like 10km from downtown Toronto but still a lot of people who live here would be surprised to know that there are places like this in the city.

wow that looks so much taller, the palisades cliffs in jersey are 500ish and dont even look as high
https://static.rootsrated.com/storie...alisades12.jpg i guess here it kinda does |
I'm guessing it's the wide-angle lens of the cell phone camera that makes it look like that. They're designed for selfies after all...

Here's some geological trivia for you. Over the great many years that the Scarborough Bluffs have been eroding a lot of the eroded material was carried westward by the currents. Where it got deposited eventually became the Toronto Islands. Cheers |
Here are my road bicycle to single-speed conversions.
this one wasa cheap MIELE road bike without an integral rear drailler hanger. (I never knew until I got that bike that Miele made low-end bikes like that) Converting it to a single-speed was easy. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1463/...0a63253a_o.jpgz) Single Speed Miele & N600 Pedals by Miele Man, on Flickr This one was a dumpster rescue of a MIELE Columbus SL frameset and some Campy parts including a tubular wheelset. I had the frame repaired because there was a crack in the top rube where the cable housing entered. I think someone used it for cyclo-cross because the tires on it were tubular cyclocross ones. I have 4 Shimano Aero water bottles but only three cages. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1558/...9ec8a51f_o.jpgMiele Single Speed #02a by Miele Man, on Flickr Here's another MIELE Columbus SL frameset I've rescued. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1541/...4097b356_o.jpg#1 Miele Columbus SL Frame Single Speed - Side View by Miele Man, on Flickr A head-on shot showing the Dura Ace AX brake caliper. Its mate is on the rear. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1488/...5c4fdda9_o.jpg#2 Miele Columbus SL Frame Single Speed - Front View by Miele Man, on Flickr A close-up of the front brake. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1592/...502442ab_o.jpg#3 Miele Columbus SL Frame Single Speed - Headtube by Miele Man, on Flickr A BIANCHI I built as a single-speed. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1644/...c3d79422_o.jpgBianchi Singlespeed 1a by Miele Man, on Flickr I'll post my No-name single-speeds in another post in a minute. Cheers |
Here are two of my No-name single-speed builds. No-name because I don't know who made the frames.
This one came with Shimano 600 Arabesque groupset that I used on another MIELE project. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1493/...6bb0259b_o.jpg#1a Single Speed - Right Side by Miele Man, on Flickr This is a MTB single-speed I built for fun. The rear brake is mounted under the chainstays. That's a great place for such a brake if you're touring on the oad but it's definitely NOT the best location for one on an off-road bicycle. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1665/...051f2063_o.jpgMTB 2 Single Speed 1a by Miele Man, on Flickr Here's a head-on view of it. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1458/...184f468b_o.jpgMTB 2 Single Speed 1b by Miele Man, on Flickr The handlebar is REALLY WIDE! LOL VBEG It's an entire 12 INCHES. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1705/...46ab250e_o.jpgMTB 2 Single Speed 1c by Miele Man, on Flickr It is great for getting into and out of tight places though. LOL Cheers |
Your Bianchi is slick TimothyH.

It rides like a cloud. I'm so happy with it. Glad you are reunited with your MTB. That was crazy. |

Jelly. Did you have to order them from Fairweather? Hoping to be able to avoid the 1/3 price bump for shipping.
