Lots of icy bridges and overpasses, too. Good thing I'm retired and don't have to commute in this crap. Also, cold and windy. Right now it's 18 deg and windchill is 8 deg.

my buddy moved to wisconsin 4 months ago after being a lifelong texan for 41 years...talked to him yesterday and it was -17 degrees where he is and he said it wasn't as bad there as it is in jan-feb in texas when it's 20deg. today the windchill was 11deg with 81% humidity here in tx. it's ****ing br00tal. people underestimate it...

TejanoTrackie 01-07-17 07:54 AM

Right now here in ciudad de vacas it is 12 deg with a windchill of 2 deg. Guess I'll be riding the trainer again today. :(

Mumonkan 01-07-17 08:48 AM

motrheadsroadie 01-07-17 11:05 AM

Pffft. Four below this morning. Only safe way to the mailbox is on hands and knees. Even then, traction is limited. Why did I move here? :crash:

Someone: "It's cold here."
Someone else: "It's colder here."

Damn! We might get snow flurries or a freeze once or twice in the winter, but so far nothing this year.

75 degrees and sunny here tomorrow, no complaints.

As a lifelong Wisconsonian - anything nearly that cold with that humidity is soul-sucking. It was hovering around zero all week here, but dry as a bone.

The fall/spring days where it's ~30 and humid are the worst by far.

Local trails were frozen and grippy. Good times.

It's going to be 70° in Atlanta this Friday.

Just felt like saying that.

TejanoTrackie 01-09-17 09:30 AM

It's supposed to be 77 tomorrow and 79 on Wednesday in my neck of the woods. Just thought I'd gloat. :D

Spring is never far away in the south. Daffodils are coming up around my mailbox. Second week in February and things will start popping here in Georgia.

It's winter here too. Never expected that to happen in January.

There is snow on the ground in every state except for Florida.
