I used to live in Jackson, MI and for awhile was president of the Ann Arbor Velo Club. I also rode DALMAC several times. The summers are beautiful up there, but the winters are brutal.

They can be. Last winter was a bit of a wuss, rode about three days/week and I'm not a winter cyclist. This winter is a bit wussy as well. A couple of winters back, now that was a different matter, about 100 inches.

Gonna be a high of 76 today.

SpeshulEd 01-10-17 12:54 PM

Warmer than Phoenix!

TejanoTrackie 01-10-17 01:47 PM

It's 79 right now heading to a high today of 80. Just got back from a ride in jean shorts and a tank top. Supposed to be back to cold and rainy by the weekend.

franswa 01-10-17 02:44 PM

Give me back the cold! I want to get my $$ worth on my winter gear.

24 degrees F. when I started this morning,...chilly!

The State Park has a new fleet of fatties for rent this Winter, nice to see! I've been riding here since the Park only had a couple of picnic shelters. Now it sports a Lodge, bars, conference centers and hundreds of rooms and cabins. Growth is good here.

I always thought a Palomino was a goldish colored. I've really no idea though.

Probably sniffing for cliff bars.

you're right I googled them. but I always thought they had that kind of spotted coloring. guess it was a false memory from a children's book or something

FWIW, a Paint horse as it's known here in the States. A Piebald in the U.K. (skewbalds are black & white there). So now you know!

The little feller is a jackass.

North Coast Joe 01-16-17 07:01 AM

He may be, I don't know him, but he's really a burro. Jack Asses are a hybrid horse/burro combo, much larger, sterile and bad natured. Sorta' the 26" MTB of the equine world...smaller than the real horses, but able to endure tougher life & work conditions.

^ ha, fantastic

rjones28 01-16-17 03:14 PM

Warm enough that the ice fishers didn't need their tents.
