I lived in Gangnam for 4 years. Which fixed gear shops do you go to? Also, do you know about the King of Track (KOT)? Pretty much the RHC of Asia. Check out #KOT12 on instagram.
From the looks of your photos, it looks like you make a few stops along the Han River. Do you ever go to Banpodaegyo (Banpo Bridge aka Rainbow Bridge)? A lot of fixed gear fanatics tend to make that their pit stop (at least it was 4 years ago when I was still there). Also to Color Park near 63 City in Yeouido. Speaking of looking in the right places, check out this site (if you haven't already): ½Ì±Û±â¾î : ³×À̹ö Ä«Æä . It's basically the fixed gear world in Korea, online. Not sure how good your Korean is, but I'm sure you can figure out where the "search" button is and if you type down "NJS" you'll find a good number of bikes/parts. Note: member GOODENOUGH has some of THE best parts. Bring a towel for your drool. I also commute past Banpo Bridge every day, and spend a lot of time lounging around there whenever I'm not busy, but these days it's all fixie kids, longboard dancers, and mtbers practicing their endos and bunny hops. (Plus, they recently opened a weekend food truck park on one side of the bridge that has basically ruined that area for hanging out.) I ride through Yeouido occasionally, but it's so insanely crowded these days that I usually avoid. Will definitely spend more time at that Naver link you sent. I've already seen a lot of steel/classic stuff there that I didn't know anyone here was into. Otherwise, I probably just need to make more of an active effort. Up to this point I've just been casually keeping my eyes open, but I haven't really tried to find anyone/anything. From what you're saying, though, it sounds like folks are definitely out there, somewhere. Thanks for the motivation! Great bikes, btw. |

Storms blew through Georgia. The evening turned out nice nonetheless.

Quick pick from my first ride after moving to a new town. Bridge was too skinny to get a decent shot.

Took a break from studying for the bar exam today. It's been a long time since I've been out on the bike for a good honest ride.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4253/3...6c76a92d_c.jpg The last time I rode I ended up with a flat, without a spare tube, patch kit or a pump. Thankfully there's a local bike shop on that stretch. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4212/3...63f0e3cb_c.jpg |
Packed the bike for a ride after visiting my mother-in-law.

Finally got to go for a ride yesterday after maybe 3 weeks? Only to my stymied by flooded paths, mudded paths, a flat, and rain - while changing the flat, naturally.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4235/3...94a0ac_c_d.jpg But on the upside, I saved this little guy - he was trying to cross the bike path and would almost certainly have been crushed by someone https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4286/3...d93fdc_c_d.jpg |

From tonight's commute home. The whole overpass is completely lit up and I believe that they change colors. Saw the guy painting for the last few weeks. It turned out great. |
Love the colors at the Shand's Children's Hospital

Beautiful ride day here in central PA. Lot's of bike riders along the river this morning. Guess it's the closest we get to a boardwalk feeling...

Reminds me of this guy that was on the bike path a couple years back. I didn't dare touch him because he looked like he had enough of my sht.
http://i.imgur.com/JnqaRBr.png Look at his eyes. He look totally irritated with you. LMAO. Wicked paint job too. |

Where in Central PA? I used to go to school there back in the day, and recently learned State College is the Mecca of PA mountain biking.
