Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

sorry im just getting back to you, i just got back from a camping trip. bike party just happened last friday through oakland. try to find them on facebook, or just google eastbay bike party.

Did an unexpected 110 miler yesterday with 4,500 feet of climbing with 8 other people, three of them riding brakesless track bikes. My knees hurt just thinking about it. Thank god I took my road bike...

it is actually fun for a 5-10 Km/h ride, plus it's an empty streets ahead (actually I'm riding at a car-free-day area LOL)

ok.

The Great Highway was recently repaved and omg it's fantastic. Perfect backdrop for some (8, to be exact) 5 minute intervals this morning with the club:

Sorta wish I had brought out the track bike. 49x16 would have been perfect for this!

Jealous. We finished the Fleche on that highway and not all of it was so great, especially after riding 22 or so hours.

#hellarolemodels haha.

My boys? Not so much. The MASH dudes that I ride with wear helmets and mostly ride/race road bikes these days. All growed up, maybe? I dunno.

Also, maiden voyage of the newly upgraded/adjusted/almost-finished townie. I've named her Gojira and she is amazingly fun to ride.

Getting #hellaaero :

I feel so tall riding it normally!
