WAY different from the movies. I read them when I was like in middle school or something though, so I forgot a lot of it. The movies are awesome though, except for Marie dying in Supremacy.

Reading Raymond Feist. My favorite fantasy author. Also want to keep up with the Star Wars New Jedi Order books when I have time. I am a GEEK.

I think I love you. Have you read "The Fourth Part of the World"? (maps/GIS nerd here :) )

Currently I am reading far too many books simultaneously (I have a problem):

-On the Origin of Species (Darwin)
-The Black Prism (Weeks)
-How the Mind Works (Pinker)
-Broca's Brain (Sagan)
-Omen Machine (Goodkind)
-Programming Python (Lutz)

I tend to finish books in waves, go out and buy 2-3 more, rinse and repeat.
