Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Man it's beautiful today. Wish I was riding with you. Hopefully the weather will hold up for tomorrow's slide ride. Enjoy.

Just finished eating, getting some water in me and packing up the bag. Got some last minute shopping to do and a few paychecks to deposit, although not in that order

I rode past that place last night, someone, probably you, yelled out "nice bike". I was on my orange aero track, stickerless. Maybe next time I'll stop and have a drink. I'm brand new to this forum, and fixed for that matter. Hell, the last bike I had was a freestyle (GT) in 1987, maybe earlier. I forgot how fun biking is. Glad to see people hooking up rides in SF on these forums.

funny thing about last night was that from the moment i hit sf i just kept running into numerous peeps on f/g bikes and i was wondering if out of all the folks i chatted with, exchange glances, smiles you name it, was anyone going to post a random encounter...

yep that was me, and yes next time stop by for a quick drink before you move along...and while bikes with gears have to park out front...all fixed gear bikes come inside...even if it means me putting people out to make room

btw i echo...its beautiful outside today....am thinking that stuff i had to do is about to get put off till tomarrow...

I'll be there. You'll need the brake for the hill up to Acme.

Don't forget your piece of cardboard for the slides. You'll need a piece big enough to to make a good sled.

Edit: Picture from the brakeless ride:
