Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

actually, the deeper kinlins are known to be pretty tough...yes, the 22s can benefit from more spokes.

i've never used them fixed, but i have a couple sets of 30mm rims on geared road bikes with 25k+ documented miles between them, and zero issues. both are 20/24, i'm a 180(+)lb. masher, and they are plenty stiff.

otherwise, good points: build quality is it, round spokes are the value point.

as i said a few posts ago: kinlin rims, round butted spokes, formula hubs, builders advice on count/lacing per your build/intent.
