Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Velocity Deep Vs are great rims. Build them right and you've got a great wheelset.

Nothing wrong with them per se but I just there would be better deep-dish offerings by now ever since their surge in popularity.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but is the shallower, but wider (and lighter) Chukker stronger than the B43, all else being equal?

KinLin XR-380's.

Just about as deep as B43's, lighter than V's.

Why not (insert any given product name here)?

Sometimes people just want what they want and not everyone wants the same thing.

Can anyone describe the most important difference between DP18s and Velocity Deep Vs?

Are the Velocitys worth ~$60 more?

I bought a B43 for $28 at a bike shop in DC they wanted it gone and I needed a pothole proof rear wheel....is it heavy? hell yes but it's laced to a Sturmey Archer S2 hub so its not as noticeable
