Hang on for the poll, because I want to establish whether there's enough interest in this to make it viable. It'll be a secondary forum here in SS/FG for trickbikes if it goes. The poll will run for 2 weeks, and I'll check back in here weekly, and get updates from Scrod or Dannihilator, as well.

I am not a big fan of fgfs, and am 100% for a subforum!

Agreed. It's very different from conventional FG/SS riding and it's obvious that we'll be getting more FGFS riders here since tricktrack.org is down. It'd be good to have a place that can be focused on FGFS and not clutter up our "normal" FG forum with it since most of us aren't well educated in FGFS specific stuff.

I think a subforum is a great idea. Eliminates the possibility of friction between the two camps. Wait what am I saying, friction? In the SSFG forum? Never.
In short, yes please. Thank you.

even though i havent been here long enough to matter, id say a seperate forum would be best
its really its own sport and type of riding, most of the components are designed specifically for fs and some overlap form the bmx world as well
just like you might not find bmx risers and splined sprockets and "chode" stems in most bike shops that even cater to the usual SS/FG crowd, you wont find most people here (from what i can tell) knowing what parts go best with what parts or where to find them

I never wear Ralph Lauren shirts when I ride my SSFG. Usually I just wear a t-shirt.

I think it could be good. As much as the whole FGFS thing isnt my thing, it's trending right now and a sub forum for it would likely do well. I've noticed most of the kids that come in the shop everyday that ask for "fixie" parts are looking for FGFS stuff and none of them want track bikes anymore. They wanna turn their $100 walmart fixies into bmx bikes. FGFS is popular for what ever reason and there's really no denying it at this point.

I'm with Scrod on this one. It's so different from what most of us in SSFG are doing, especially when they've evolved to stuff like 26" rims and their splined cranksets and that's just from a bike style perspective. The riding is a whole other ball game too.

neither a freestyle subforum nor seperate forum is necessary.
carleton's fear of an influx of fgfs invaders has not taken place & there is no reason the occasional post on the subject should be immediately attacked or the poster chased off.
if however, bikeforums wants to attract additional eyes for their ads from tricktrackers looking for a new home, then a trickin specific forum would be a good idea.

I vote yes, especially if it stops carlton from continuing to tantrum-bump all the old the FGFS threads here.
A polo forums would be nice too. But I also agree w/ Scrod, in that FGFS and Polo should not be sub-forums in SSFG, but their own forums like BMX.

You want a FG Polo forum? There are like 15 people on Earth that still do that.

I wish I could find the two pics I had years ago of Prolly's FGFS bike and some guy's BMX Cruiser that happened to be the same color. The BMX Cruiser looked to be only one generation away from Prolly's FGFS bike. It was also cheaper and more durable.
