Color my bike
So most of the new parts are here after I was hit a few weeks ago and since the bike is all torn down already I decided it was time to change up the color.
So far I have:
silver wheels and cranks
black stem
white seat
raw carbon seat post and fork
raw aluminum frame
I was originally thinking strip the stem and polish it too for all silver components and paint the frame white, then I thought a nice pearl finish would really top it off.
Two things I'm not sure about though, what to do with the carbon parts. Do I paint the fork to match? I have no problem with that except it leaves the seat post as the only black part other than the tires.
And what color wrap do I go with? I don't want white because that seems like it'd be too much matchy then, and I don't want silver wrap because same thing, and silver wrap is never cushiony, and I don't want black cause I've always had black wrap and would like a change.
The goal is to have a more classy looking bike this time, however classy looking an aero aluminum frame can look. Ideas?
Edit: more accuratlly the front rim, hub, and rear spokes are silver. The rear rim, hub and front spokes are black. That's just the colors I could get them in at the right price. I was just going to strip the black parts but could mismatchy wheels look good like that? Anyone have pics of that kind of thing?
And the frame can be painted any color. I have a guy at some body shop who will paint a frame anything I want for a 30 pack of coors. Pearl or candy colors might run me two 30 packs, but that's still only $40.
