Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? schwalbe luganos are awful.

About 3 weeks ago i was out for a ride w/ a buddy on the newly-paved River Road in Alpine. maybe 1 mile into it, i roll over someone's gascap that's in the shade-- completely invisible. Got a flat, ok, nothing major-- happened to a guy right in front of me as well.

However, it tore a 1" hole in the schwalbe lugano front tire i had on. I can understand a flat, but a ripped tire? walked up to the bike shop, replaced it with a conti grand prix, all is good.

Flash back to this morning, on the same road, i start to feel a lump in my rear tire-- weird, it's also the stock schwalbe. I deflate, try to re-seat stuff, and notice that there's a sort of dimple in the tire. hoping for the best i re-inflate to about 60, and roll...

and not 3 minutes after i get stung by a bee on a downhill (!), THAT lugano bursts. tore a hole wide open in the tire.

I should note that there were shop-installed on new wheels-- wasn't me f'ing up a tube or something. They're just **** tires.

STAY AWAY.
