Bow to Scrod but not to me, lol.
I was just commenting that basically everyone thought this thread was useless/worthless and going to be closed, but it's still going strong. Maybe not every post is 110% helpful but whatever...
No harm no foul AFAIC

What I do know is that I could buy a Nashbar single speed frame, decent headset and fork and the rest of it unremarkable quality parts and have a really nice single speed at around 20 pounds for around $300, probably less by scrounging used bikes. So it's not really important to me in the grand scheme of things how you get to 30 pounds without deliberately trying to.

They are not fixed but SS..
They're all with all brakes, freewheels, bottle storage...
However,
Steamroller - 20lbs

Langster 20.4
(aquarack is 200g alone).

SE PB (wife's)
21.2 If it would have Wabi wheels as others, it would be under 20.

For affordable, lower weight have a look at the Wabi wheelset - https://wabicycles.com/GXwheels.html

23lbs even. I just recently trimmed what seemed to be about a foot of extra seatpost, so it might be in the high 22s now. After being around bikes and bike parts more over these past couple of months, I know what's weighing it down. My saddle, rear wheel and the BB that comes with the SRAM S100 are on the heavy side. I don't have plans to change any of those parts right now, so oh well.

i can see that if it was a schwinn varsity. but you can get a pretty descent bike for super cheap on craigslist.
I got a fuji and a bianchi i paid $100 for (each). they're 60 cm road bikes with deraillures and mid tier suntour components. the fuji is 26 lbs and the bianchi is 24.
