Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

San Francisco Bike Forum Fixed Gear Critical Mass!

Hey guys lets make the mass fun again and make it a critical mass fixed gear forum ride, meet at the mass spot look for forum members and lets ride together and then we get some beers.

If the mass sucks we split off and do our own thing!

Damn, I was looking forward to sf cm (not even counting the bf fg element) but found out the show I'm going to this week is on Friday, not Thursday. Have fun everyone.

I'm just going to keep watching for the next hour. By 5:30 it could be past.

If it's not raining TOO hard, I'll be there. I ride a black soma rush and I'll be wearing a white colnago cycling cap.

hell yes. last night was great. the rain (mostly) held off and it was a pretty chill mass. I only saw one or two angry motorists - one VERY angry guy driving thrrough Market and VanNess, threatening people. His backseat passenger spit at some bikers - douchbag.

I met Terror in Pink and ??? Fabian, whose screen name I dont recall. I also drank a lot and lost my friends and by the end of the night had at least 2 no/low speed falls. I ended up walking my bike several blocks because my balance was just gone.
good times.

who else from the forum was there?

Couldn't make it at the last minute. You all should plan on going to Hellyer for the BF Hellyer Track Fix. https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/85455-sf-who-wants-go-hellyer.html

Bikes: celo europa 80's track, colnago pista, samson keirin. bite me.

yah, that was a good time. luckily the rain mostly held off till later. It was actually my first CM, and all in all it was fun. loved the inspiriational music. "eye of the tiger" really had me going.

met mattyO and the_loin, and terror in pink has lots of stories to tell. ended up getting burritos in the mission with her and a couple of eastbayers. cool cats, all. good times!

ditto. That's funny, my first cm too. I wish I could have hung on for longer, but had to be somewhere, and the ride started lateish. Next time. there were some really nice bikes there, and some kooky stuff as well.
