Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

A BiFi. I know and work with many here. All welcome. Mucho luck in finding a partner, either way. It seems to make life a little more tricky.

Psssh, you got that right! People think it gives more options, but in my experience, it just freaks out both sexes, and they go a runnin'.

I am unfamiliar with the BiFi term. What's the Fi part?

It doesn't freak me out Schwinny! Come on down to Cincinnati. Then you can dump me for one of my friends or run off with a lesbian. Doesn't bother me any. Hell it's not like it would be the first time. I'd just be happy to ride to the bar with someone.

You know what we need to do, is get MKRG, schwinnbikelove, s2sxii, and myself and get an Ohio fixed gear party together. A ride followed by some drinking and stories. Sound good??

Ohio is what? Ten miles by ten miles? Getting together for a ride should be a piece of cake.

I'm too young to drink too. It's just that drinking does in real life what the internet does digitally. It lowers inhibitions. I have almost exactly one month until the The Great Ohio Fixed Gear Bar Crawl. I know people at OSU that can provide the pass out grounds for us.

Oh right. Some of you are under age. Not a problem for me now.

Growing up in Africa, if you were over 5'6" and had money, you were old enough.
I remember when my sister, who only grew to to 5'2" had to use me (two years younger), to get into bars.
She lamented frequently.

Heh, not only did I not know I was in a relationship, but now I'm a lyin', cheatin' sack of cow manure? I think highly of you too, Mike.

I've already tried to get you to come up here. Is my truck more reliable? I'd be down for this party Trekkie speaks of, and believe that sx2iii or whatever his name is (he he he) already had the idea last summer. Nobody said anything else about it, though.

I'd absolutely be in heaven if anyone else in my neighborhood even rode a bike, let alone having it be someone I know and like, and that'd be willing to be good company at a bar or diner without wanting anything else, if you catch my drift.

Isn't Ohio really just NORTHERN West Virginia?

I think I might tie some sticks together into a raft and float my fix and I down to Nawlins. Then you guys will stop making fun of me...and my big ol' plate of lonely.

No room for Jim and Huck. Just enough for me, aka: The Eight Track Playa' and any lovely river women I may encounter.

Yes I had the idea last summer. Now the trick is getting s2sxiii off his gears and back on the fix. Perhaps we can get a bunch of people down to columbus for the jumpinships alleycat at the end of april. That is, if 165 can find columbus on his back assward map.

Now SBL, learn my name. It's over there on the left.
