Nitto RB-018 in Thomson 25.4 stem (Premium Rush)?

The Affinity Metropolitan in Premium Rush looks like it's running Nitto RB-018 bullhorns (they say Nitto Bullhorns and they have no drop) but the stem is a Thomson 25.4 (can see clearly in Affinity video):

Just wondering how that works since the RB-018 are 26mm bars. Wanted to run a similar setup but my stem is 25.4.

26 and 25.4 are close enough. Anything you can do to look like Premium Rush is awesome, so I say go for it.

Is that a plot point in the movie?

Though it may be unsafe, I don't feel like it'd take much to ream out the stem to tape a slightly larger bar. Maybe that's what they did. Or maybe not.

This is actually a good point. It's worth the risk.

FWIW, Thomson used to make a 26.0 version of the Elite stem.

Hey whatever. They're not my teeth.

I'm just saying that the OP could always do it right and use a 26.0 Elite stem. I see them pop up on eBay pretty regularly.

Just as happy to buy a new Dimension or Velo Orange at the proper size if needed. Was just wondering if the bars ran small or the stems ran large in some way that they actually fit. Seemed from the video that they took care in picking the parts so I thought perhaps this was the case.

Not in love with Thomson's particularly at full price for a used or NOS item. I've cracked the faceplate on them with proper sized bars (my bad no torque wrench but only using a Park Y wrench). The full price ebay ones aren't available in the size I'd need anyway (a silver 26 90mm 5 degree if anyone is looking to get rid of or trade for a black 80mm 0 degree 31.8 X4 brand new)

JGL summed it up well there ,"pop corn movie", then again I am out of touch and that could be a pretty common way of describing dumb but fun movies

It is a pretty terrible movie but entertaining enough for a rainy Sunday. I think it would make a good drinking game any time they say "fixie", "steel", or "no brakes".
