Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? You couldn't find this thread which is right on the 2nd page, was started just a WEEK ago, and clearly has the word "helmet" in it? Admit that you didn't search for it, right now, and apologize.

Thanks for the link. I searched for fixed gear helmets. Next week when I'm in the market for a BMX helmet I will take your advice.

What about riding fixed would make a road style helmet not be ideal for you?

JGL wears a Bern in Premium Rush, so you should probably get one of those.

tl:dr

there is no such thing as a fixie helmet, people who ride a fixed gear bike wear the same helmets as people who ride with gears, recumbent bikes, tricycle mountainbikes and unicycles

Lies!

You have to use a fixie helmet to ride a fixie.

I did a little Googling and I think a fixie helmet is when you pull the hood of your sweet American Apparel jacket over your dope Supreme fitted. Doesn't sound that safe to me, I'd go for a road bike helmet.

I may just settle on an American Apparel sweat band. Only if they have the neon ones in stock though.
