Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Look at your relitives, specifically if you have older brothers or sisters. How tall are they? When did they stop growing?

Just wish really hard about it, and hopefully you'll grow. If you can deal with not being able to ride your $550 toy for a year or more, go for it! Seriously though, you'll look less out of place than the 6'4 guys on wal-mart bikes that are 20cm too small for them

Go ride it around and see how it feels. If you like it, then you are good to go.

No. Don't get it.

It's like buying a pair of shoes that's too big because they are a good deal and you might grow into them in a year or two. What will you do until then?

Buy what's right for you now.

Big impact? Yes. Small as it sounds, if it's too big for you, you're gonna notice. Lower back, wrists, elbows and so on.

Should you get it? If you can test ride it for a long distance, not like a few times around the block, I mean give the guy your ID and keys or something and ride for 5 miles or so, then see if it works.
