Buying a new crankset and need some advice

Hello there.

At present i have a singlespeed peugot premier running a 44t front and 16t rear.
I am looking to get a set of red crankarms with a 48t chainring with 170mm cranks.

My question is this in my search for a set of crankarms im finding it hard to find any that will go with my bb axel length which is 113mm square taper,
now is it possible to use a set of crank arms that say they are best suited for either 103mm 107mm or 110mm
and what adverse effect would doing this have?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You need to pick out cranks, then pick out the matching bottom bracket. There are a lot of good high quality bottom brackets that are cheap.

What cranks are you looking at? I am sure there is a bottom bracket available for them for less than $30.

Spending that small amount on the crankset, you should have plenty to buy the proper bottom bracket. You can get a Shimano for like $20.

Stick the crank on there and check the chainline. Then order the BB length that makes up the difference.

The 110mm cranks might work, chainline might be a bit off but 3mm isn't too bad.
