Cottered cranks, just a silly piece of technology. However, if I was a steampunk enthusiast I would want that bike mounted to a wall in my room, it oozes mechanical cool with that look.

If you say it that way, jackass would be a compliment to them then.
So wacky that it's jackass. :D

Ha! There was a guy around here for a few years who looked like Napoleon Dynamite and rode a tenspeed townie with twenty or thirty plastic dinosaurs glued to the handlebars, back rack and front basket.

Bark is lighter and more aerodynamic than carbon fiber. Just ask trees.

No, you may not.

I found the worst frame ever on eBay.

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDEyMD...UKuss/$_57.JPG

The horror. Then I looked up the company. They have a brand. I **** you not, "Street Cred."

http://frankinstienbikeworx.com/imag...cury_large.jpg

Well, they had a brand. "Designed in Philadelphia, PA at a place called Frankenstein Bike Worx. I don't think they're in business anymore."

I can't imagine why. Was it the literally-Hitler fixies? Oh, the owner/designer was an unhinged *******.

Anyways I learned a fun story tonight, sorry if it's only news to me.

Old hat, used to see them in Philly all the time. They are just as ugly in person, but they're not terrible to ride.

Not really jackass, but i didn't know where else to put this...

SquidPuppet 10-04-14 03:01 PM

Oh that is definitely Jackass. Very Jackass in fact. A trail measurement and wheelbase that are constantly changing by over 100 milimeters don't produce what I'd call predictable handling characteristics.
