the difference between fixie and track bike
So, I'm often being harassed by other cyclists for riding a "fixie". I'm wondering what you guys think of the nickname. I often tell people to call it a track bike, as that's what it is.
Do you guys find it as insulting as I do? How do you guys respond to "nice fixie, bro.".

Track bikes don't have Aerospokes.

A mountain bike that doesn't ride trail is just a commuter. Why would you call it a 'track bike' if it never sees the track? For what it's worth, there is absolutely nothing wrong with riding a 'fixie.' Embrace it dude - it's what it is.

He does because he knows it is just a fixie. It will probably never see a track but he wants to think it will and that he would be good at it because sometimes he goes fast on his way to school.
It's a bike, OP, just ride it. If you're that self conscious about what people think, you have the wrong hobby.

Meh. If it is a bike built for track racing which you have actually raced on a track, then sure.
My sscx bike is currently in a fixed mode because I enjoy riding it on the road that way. I certainly would never call it a track bike, but it is a fixed gear.

Jesus calm down. And Seau, read my pedal room, I don't have those wheels anymore. Those photos are outdated.
And to anyone who says my bike won't touch a track - **** you. Who cares if it touches a track. I actually have a ride planned to go to NH and ride their velodrome this summer.
Edit- New photo is up. Get off my spoon.
