good chain tool
what is a good chain tool for dealing with really thick chains.
just pulled out a nice new kmc 410h last night to complete my new drivetrain only to find out i couldn't trim it down because the damn thing wouldn't even fit in my chain tool.
anyone have any suggestions? would be great if it worked well on all other types of chains as well.

over lunch i went on a hunt (to the only LBS here in the city within walking distance) to try to find a 3.2.
the shop dude told me that while the 3 (he had never heard of the 3.2) was good if i wanted to be sure i could tackle ANY chain i should get the ct-7.
and since he just happened to have one back in the repair shop they barely ever used he gave me a deal on it.
i woulda liked one chain tool that does it all but having this for the 1/8" chains and my standard tool for puny little narrower chains seemed like a good compromise.
after hefting it and seeing it's quality vs the tool i currently have i will probably replace the current cheapo with a 3.2 when i get an opportunity but until then i can just use el cheapo for my other chain breaking needs.
thanks for the help!

Crap.
I just bought a CT 3 thinking it will work with single speed chains.
Has any buddy used the CT 3 with single speed chains?
Bought it on line and returning it will be a PIA.
What options?

It may work if you're not using a chain with extra thick or oddly-shaped side plates - like a KMC K710 or D101.

I keep a park ct-5 in my saddle bag at all times. Works fine with road and 1/8th" chains. Not a bad choice for someone who doesn't have to break chains all the time but works fine even if you do.

I have a CT-5 works fine on everything that I have used it on.
