Some Say Yellow Is Yellow... (Tires)
Posted this question in the Road bike forum and someone suggested posting here. I bought Michelin Lithion 2 Road Tires in yellow. The yellow is a darker "banana yellow" as we've found out in that forum. I have Fizik yellow bar tapes. Very bright yellow. So is the Mavic symbol on my rims. So, needless to say, they don't match. Anyone have any suggestions for BRIGHT yellow rather than BANANA yellow tires? If you have not figured out that there are different types of yellow, feel free to leave the snarky/sarcastic comments out please. Thanks

Any bright yellow is going to turn banana yellow the instant it contacts pavement....

STFU and ride your damn ugly mismatched yellow bike...
snarky enough???
seriously tires should be black and color matching your bike components makes you look like an ass.

The mismatched colours are punishment for wanting yellow tyres in the first place
Actually, I'm interested in seeing how the colours hold up long term. With hard use, dirt, sunlight, manufacturer's bastardry and good old dumb luck, I'm guessing that a mismatch now will change with time and maybe just add to the character of the bike.

Over sensitive roadiebro asks for advice from the fixie crowd, insults them in advance because he knows he'll be ridiculed for asking such a stupid question.

Your cog is slipping.
So let me get this straight...the color of the tire is more important than the quality and durability? Sounds like you roadies are even sillier than the fixie kids.

I think people are getting me wrong... I just wanted a tire that matched. Seems like that is stupid as far as what I'm gathering. As far as tire build goes, I liked the build and feel of the Mich. tires a lot. I was culling suggestions for what fit my range. Not JUST what was the "right color of yellow." Technically, this is my first road bike. That's why I posted there first. I have a Bianchi SS that I've ridden for a while. But, seems like there's some massive hostility between the two groups that I somehow missed here in Co...

Difficult to gauge the level of hostility you would have received since you fired off with an insult out of the gate. Most of the regular posters here own and ride geared bikes (including 3 of the 4 regular moderators). Perhaps you should reconsider your own perceptions.
