Yeah I hear you on that, im not really hopping on the gravel bike "trend" just looking for an All City Macho Man Disc. More of a do anything bike. The problem is I only have Vintage Cannondales and a few single speeds none of which are suited well for this type of riding. The closest would be that Volume Cutter if I made the part swaps.

i'm doing the dk200 in '14 also.
been getting in some good training so far on the crux. pretty stoked.

Today I am still sick with the same cold from last week. Coming home from work, around the time the odometer in my pickup showed six fives in a row, one of the dry-rotted tires failed:

I managed to get the "temporary spare", which may not have been dropped from underneath the bed since it was new, to take full 60psi rated pressure with a bicycle pump. Luckily it happened on a long straight stretch and the traffic was light. Totally my fault for not keeping closer tabs on its condition, but the truck spends most of its days now just sitting in the yard.

Then limped the remaining 18 miles home to find this waiting for me:

Good thing for the sender that it did not contain a Huffy.

today i beefed it in some deep ass mud while i was attempting to hop a curb to hit the singletrack.

What!?!? No way! Where are you from? Also if you didn't know this ill let you know now Emporia is the **** hole of Kansas. The flint hills are awesome though.

johnnytheboy 09-03-13 08:01 PM

texass.
I've ridden with Dan Hughes a couple times. He got me pumped for it.
Dude is a beast.

A friend rode the 100k last year. Flatted out 3 times and had to DNF. It's a hell of a ride.

You going with a group, Johnny?

Leukybear 09-03-13 08:31 PM

Rode across the new bay bridge bike path after work. Too bad it doesn't go all the way to SF. =(((

Also got to be that guy who snuck his full size road bike on the last train car of bart during peak commute hours. No regrets.

Sweet. I minored in jazz trumpet and played in orchestras for exactly the first half of my life.
Do you take moneys for restorations? Been looking for someone to work on my Strad 37.

Even crazier!! A friend of mine named Collin does Dan and Rebecca Rusch's support for that race. If you are keeping up with Dan you are going to smoke me. I need to get much more serious miles in my legs before then.

Yeah, my dad has a few bikes. Although, at my skill I would hardly call it dirt biking.
