I have been feeling like a cold was coming on. I feel much better today, which is excellent because I a going on a van/bike/camping/mixed dirt and road ride in Santa Barbara tonight. Disease stay away!

It's not native. Unfortunately people smuggle it in.

You'll get a good idea of how by watching Maria full of Grace.

Just had a nasty fall.

Hit some big rocks in the bike Lane. Chunk of curb or something.

Helmet is cracked, road rash, and I think my elbow is broken.

Hospital in the morning, nothing urgent.

Sketchy descent with lots of potholes and general nastiness, hit a pothole at like 30mph and it dented the rim inward at the hook, cut the sidewall of the tire. I was able to just rotate the tire and replace the tube and complete the last 55mi of the ride. Tonight I was able to straighten out the hook with pliers and I retrued my wheel so I can finish off the weekend (college training camp). Probably going to have to trash the rim.

...and I'm freakin' worn out. Just got back from my long ride, which makes it 4.5hrs today, and 13.5 total for the week. Just finished a 10/11/13.5 hr/week three week block, I'm gonna be pretty tired for the next couple days.

Next week I'm looking forward to resting up with a few easy rides.

Mumonkan 01-19-14 03:42 PM

ive barely ridden at all thsi month, and i dont really know why

Nagrom_ 01-19-14 04:05 PM

Bike is ok, bars got knocked cockeyed, chewed up lever and a fubard saddle. Wheels are a true as ever. No frame dents.

I have a follow up appointment with orthopedics on the 30th to see if I need pins in my elbow.

I'm in Minneapolis. Nice airport.

Today I bought a masi speciale, bought it as a complete to replace my super flexy, borderline dangerously so, kilo team. The team was a pretty bike, and it was nice and light, but I could flex the top tube back and forth while I was riding.

i swapped over my toupe, compact drops+stem, and gr9's, and it's a whole new world riding a bike that just responds when I hammer on it, it is yellow and even though I am not to keen on yellow bikes, I think I got a good enough deal to look past the color.

it also has wheels with colored nipples, so I feel extra fancy having my first non bikes direct fixed gear. It's definitely heavier, but not noticeably when riding, and the size is spot on.

Glad to see that you didn't break your sense of humor, though.

I have the 2010 version.
I'm quite happy with mine.

Nagrom_ 01-19-14 08:07 PM

Haha thanks Bob,hoping I won't be out of commission for too long.

All you peeps need to stop being sick and injured.

I bought a juicer this weekend. I made juice all day.

Also took the brakes off the fixed today...can't stop, don't want to.

hairnet 01-20-14 12:45 AM

Get well, Nagrom.

Today I completed the SB ride with pals and gals. The mountain was angry and the heat was brutal. Quads were burning and front derailleurs were broken. There was a junior racing team training and all their groups were being followed by cars blasting Eminem and Kid Rock. Way to ruin the scenery, sheesh.
