I got one of these this year; it really works! Clears the snow in half the time it takes to shovel (quicker than most of my neighbors' snow blowers, even), much cheaper and easier to maintain. :thumb:

in cycling news i kicked down 3hrs b4 work this morning.

getting out of bed before dawn sucks, but being on the road out in the cuts during sunrise is pretty kewl.

Nagrom_ 02-05-14 05:55 PM

Copped a set of ceramic angular contact bb bearings. Gonna tear down the caad. Getting a set of nokon next pay check. I also got a new s works toupe.

FakeFuji 02-05-14 06:51 PM

I like my toupe, but I hated the little pointy things on the back of it

Mumonkan 02-05-14 06:57 PM

something ive always wondered: is it pronounced hairpiece or troop with a silent r?

Nagrom_ 02-05-14 06:57 PM

On the lower end models its a torx 8 to take them off. On the s works they're apart of the shell so tough luck.

Nagrom_ 02-05-14 07:00 PM

Like the hair piece.

Dannihilator 02-05-14 07:09 PM

Today I put in an hour and a half at a hard pace on the trainer, am paying for it now however.

Today I woke up at 5 am to a lot of racket coming from my animal trap located on my front porch. So far in the last month I've caught 7 feral cats, one possum and now a racoon. They are all nuisance animals with the racoons being the most destructive and dangerous. I transport them out to the country and release them.

Also, today I finally got my new HEF (high efficiency toilet) installed. I was waiting for a new tile floor to be installed to replace a horrible old linoleum floor before installing the toilet, and the results look great. I have to wait a day before entering the bathroom to let the tile cement set up and the grout dry, but he tested the toilet and it works great w/o leaking. The house is 50 years old and it has black iron sewer pipe with a completely rusted out toilet outlet flange. He had to hammer and grind it off and then use concrete anchors to insert a new pvc flange. I'm sure glad I didn't try to do it myself.

Today it looks like I committed to teaming up with a few buddies to do a mixed dirt&road century and two fleche randos this year in March, April, and May. Time to get back into shape.

Today I put my mad skills to use and installed a new deadbolt and passage set at the co-op... the funky biometric keyless entry system does not like extreme cold and after one winter of it mis-behaving decided to go with an old fashioned system. Should have figured that a product that was designed in Florida might not work where the temperatures can hit -40.

Thought I was going to freeze solid but got the job done, fabricated a new plate for the door as the old system used a larger cutout and back set which I was able to do inside but still had to make sure everything was fitted up right.

Installed a high efficiency valve in my WC last week... our water rates are insane and am hoping this cuts our water use-age although all these lower flow plumbing fixtures often cause problems with old sewage systems that were designed for higher flow rates.

Are you doing 24 hour fleches? What kind of distance?

How does this differ from a HET (high efficiency toilet) ? I installed one in my house yesterday and it uses only 4.8 Lpf, which is about half as much water as my old toilet. I tried it out just now with a serious morning load and it works great. Instead of all the long swirling and swirling in the bowl before finally flushing, it just does an immediate effective flush much like the pressurized units you see in public bathrooms.

On another note, although it's not as cold down here as where you live, it's still only 10 degF (-12 deg C) and snowing with the predicted temperature staying below freezing all day. It's definitely indoor training weather for me and so thankful I don't have to commute to work today.
