How does this differ from a HET (high efficiency toilet) ? I installed one in my house yesterday and it uses only 4.8 Lpf, which is about half as much water as my old toilet. I tried it out just now with a serious morning load and it works great. Instead of all the long swirling and swirling in the bowl before finally flushing, it just does an immediate effective flush much like the pressurized units you see in public bathrooms.

On another note, although it's not as cost down here as where you live, it's still only 10 degF (-12 deg C) and snowing with the predicted temperature staying below freezing all day. It's definitely indoor training weather for me and so thankful I don't have to commute to work today.

The kit adds a two position switch to the fixture for low and higher flow needs...

I'm throwing a few $K of work into my house this week to hopefully help it sell this year (after many months on the market). Among other work, I just got a new toilet to replace a powder blue one and got brass tub faucet/fixtures replaced with chrome. Today the powder blue tub is getting reglazed white. I can't afford to replace the seashell tile, but at least it'll be an improvement. The upstairs fiberglass tub had a crack which is now fixed and is also getting reglazed today.

Also replacing broken glass in 3 windows, removed 2 layers of wallpaper and will get fresh paint in one room, and painted some seriously ugly dark green fake marble laminate countertops with this special countertop paint. All cosmetic stuff but I think it was making the house look less well maintained than it actually is.

I only drive my car once a week into work to keep the batteries charges, otherwise it's bike time. Takes longer to drive than it does to bike plus I get mad street credit.

On the flip side, I rarely commute to work, and my apt is 3.5 mi away.

I'm less of a utilitarian cyclist and more of a jock I suppose. On most weekdays, I've trained, recovered, showered and ate before even coming into work. Different strokes.

When I was in Arizona, I used to drive to work and I lived less than a mile away. I think it comes with just the culture of the cities.

Here's a sweet pic of my beardsicle. First time ever riding in real snow.

A fleche is a 24 hour event and both require you to plan a route of at least 360km.

Haha same; except usually my sqrl does because my subaru is more fun to drive than her overpriced bells & whistles covered audi.

Same story here, 'cept it's prolonged even more with the monotonous act of finding a parking spot; it does not even matter if you have a staff permit.

do you bro.

Today I have to get my bike because I left it locked up at the bar last night. I think I've shook the hangover enough to go outside now.

hairnet 02-08-14 06:58 PM

First training ride of the our little "season" in with 6000 feet climbing. I'm going to bed now.
