That's not one, but three separate QC issues. Even bd bikes aren't that screwed up.

Sorry, that's totally unacceptable to me, and returning a frame is a royal hassle. Not to mention the inconvenience of not having the frame when you need it, as is the case here with @hairnet.

Today was supposed to be intro track class night but instead I became very ill last night and got worse at work today, went home at lunch and been in bed ever since.

Got some good news from the lady friend today, when I do reach the beach on the 17th, her brother has a beach house that we can stay out so not only do I get to bike out to the beach, I will be able to get drunk and sit on the beach. Ain't even mad.

Today I wonder when motorists are going to learn that honking at a cyclist who has the lane is only going to make them go slower...

It is a fully loaded 1991 and essentially a one owner vehicle, the older fellow who had it was meticulous in the service department and it runs like a new truck despite being 23 years old.

My mechanic checked it out before I laid out any cash and he said it was in incredible shape and that I should not have any worries.

That's awesome. Congrats and good luck with it. The inline six is indestructible and will probably be running long after we're gone haha!

Today (yesterday) I stripped powdercoat off of an old Schwinn cantilever frame and fork. Man it was brutal getting into all those nooks and crannies.

I knew it going in that the best tool to bring was a big bag of patience, and man did I need it. PITA.

Already appreciating it as I stopped by a community garage sale this am and scored a 1948 Singer sewing machine in a cabinet and the car would not have been able to carry it.

Did not even have to flip down the back seat with the Jeep.

Today I had a second garage flat in so many days. Yesterday it was the rear wheel on my Bridgestone MTB that hasn't been ridden in over a year and today it was the front wheel on my Salsa Casseroll as I was about to take a ride to the grocery store. In case you don't know what I mean by "garage flat", it's a tire that suddenly goes flat while sitting in your garage for no apparent reason and that is not the result of a puncture or other external causes. In both cases it was the usual failure of the tube in the vicinity of the valve stem, which is not repairable. These particular tubes were over 10 years old and had both been patched previously, although the patches were in perfect condition and had nothing to do with the flats. I've also had fairly new tubes fail this way, but also seen tubes last much longer, so it's hard to predict when or if it is going to happen. It's been well over ten years since I've had any flats while riding, but I've gone through well over a dozen tubes with garage flats in that same period of time.

I've had a few flats like that, too, from the valve stem lower area just randomly failing. I was actually able to patch one when I really needed it, by poking a small hole in a patch and sliding it very tightly over the valve stem. It lasted a few days with that, surprisingly.
