Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Cool bike. That tire size is still alive and well in the third world.

Schwalbe make the Delta Cruiser in that size for just a tad over $20. Even available in cream, if you're into that.

Those are clincher 28 x 1-1/8. My wheels are wooden tubulars with the same nominal size. Thanks, though. Sheldon Brown's Bicycle Glossary Sa--So

Same. I couldn't stand cloth tape when I used it on its own, so I wrapped it tight over some cork.

Thanks, I didn't know about those.

That makes the bike even more unique.
Good luck with the restoration.

Climbed the steepest hill in my area (avg. grade %16) and went 60km/h down the other side with 46x17. Oh ya, and got caught in a pretty severe thunderstorm. My favourite fixed ride to date.

Geared up my Univega Gran Primeo again. It's fun fixed but funnerer with gears (I found some 8speed Dura Ace DT shifters and I had to use them immediately!) I guess if I'm going to keep a FG I need a frame I can't put gears on.

Killer project bike!

I'd probably go for some of the mellower CX tubulars. Challenge Griffo, maybe. $87 apiece or so.

Or these Tufos.

I have some DA DT shifters I've had for a while but haven't used. I should put them on the Scapin and see how many clicks they have. I guess I could just look up part number too, but...

These are 7402. The rear shifting isn't perfect so I will try Sheldon Brown's alternate cable routing

Co-op has had a ton of donation bikes lately so I spent the evening overhauling this old racing bike to be sold. Too bad it isn't my size

It's a mix of K's & X's which the owner thinks is good for confusion and prevent identification. So he can hit and run easily, but he doesn't realize that driving this in the wrong neighborhood is like owning a death warrant.

I convinced my girlfriend last month or so to get a bike and now she's browsing around for parts to buy and going out on rides by herself. Hopefully I can keep her excitement up during the winter.

I still have mine from back in the day but it doesn't work. My dad did just order a N64(again, my old one doesn't work) that I'm going to steal from my little brother so I can play Ocarina of Time.

One of my favorites right alongside goldeneye and the mario n64 games.

I bought a genesis for a midlife dose of beat em up games.

Reminds me of young Christmas and playing Sonic 2 on many a "sick" day from school. Also convincing my parents to let us rent Streets of Rage at the Blockbuster or West Coast Video. Way too many nostalgias right now, gotta go.

And of course Mortal Kombat and the blood code I still remember so you could uppercut people off the pit. Now I really gotta go.
