Truth, but I dove love Rose Canyon, and especially, Gilman. I love roads like Gilman.

Well it looks like my time at the beach bike shop is ending. Whoa I might have time to ride this semester!

Ordered a grey Bonetto Cinturini rubber strap for the work watch cause the nato kept skinking up too quick. I have to wash my hands often throughout the day it was always damp.

check out Panatime if you want affordable quality straps.

I've had to take a couple moths off the bike due to injuries before, it blows! As a matter of fact, I'm just getting back on the bike after hurting my back earlier this summer.

Get a new wheel!!!!!!

Sitting in the library trying to read Cortes's letters... but am instead building a Wabi in excel because my brain is telling me 'more bikes,' despite the fact that I probably can't fit another one in my dorm room.

johnnytheboy 09-18-14 04:15 PM

today i got in another 55 miles....looks like i'm finally going to have time to start riding again. 500mi for the month so far...which puts me in the top 6% on the strava challenge for the month.....:roflmao2:

Owlex 09-18-14 05:30 PM

I just can't do those longer distances yet, need to keep working up my mileage. grats on getting 55 in today.

I have a dark brown suede strap from them, but I wanted a grey rubber strap for the work watch, this is a prefect fit.

I am a meat cutter, and while we are on the subject of watch bands, what do you think I could use that wouldn't smell from getting meat and it's subsequent juices on it 6 days out of the week

Mumonkan 09-18-14 07:25 PM

rubber. take it off and wash that **** with your hands at the end of your shift and youre good. dont get a metal band, blood and guts will get in the hinges and never come out.

GhostSS 09-18-14 09:00 PM

Today I almost got creamed by a car going the wrong way on a one-way street. [Insert angry cyclist rant here]

Also rode my fixed for the first time in a month since I got my 9-speed road bike. Besides the noticeable reduction in acceleration from my pedal straps being stolen, it's like eating comfort food after weeks of healthy salad.

Haha that's not too bad; sometimes I see a cyclist riding on the road while I'm in the car or walking on the sidewalk, I would be like "darn, I wish I was him/ her"

Truth.

Owlex 09-18-14 09:33 PM

Today I was tinkering with the front brake on my bike that I really never use and I kinda maybe stripped one of the screws on it in the mechanism that holds the cable to the brake arm

Riding felt like driving a car with no e-brake. No real change in the actual riding, but somewhat disconcerting. Maybe I'm being a wuss but it was somewhat comforting to know that I could yank on it in case of whatever may happen.

Many things today.
Got tickets to see Slipknot w/ Korn in December
Had to be almost double so I can go in GA instead of Seats. Can't wait to MOSH!!!!

I found out today that a woman is brain dead from getting hit by a cyclist in Central Park yesterday. This sucks on so many levels. First obviously the someone got badly (possibly fatally) hurt. Second is there is going to be way too many restrictions and police presence at Central Park against Cyclists. I will probably have to do my loops at night when no one is there.

Even rubber watchbands absorb odor... Metal is your best bet; get an ultrasonic cleaner, that'll take care of all your crevice problems.
As an avid g shock collector I bought a vintage g shock (OG dw5000; the one that started it all) off of eBay and it reeked of rotten meat despite being very clean and in good condition. It was cleaned often as indicated by the seller but rubber becomes pourous as you wash them more and there was surface wear resulting from all the washing on this specific one. I ended up keeping it in activated charcoal to get rid of the smell. Flipside is the original 30+ year old rubber on it is still pliable and soft due to that fact.

Mumonkan 09-19-14 01:53 PM

ultrasonic cleaner + metal band = >$ than a new rubber watchband if it gets funky

also AristoNYC ive seen that guy in cp and on 9w on more than one occasion.
i hate cp because there is always a risk of this **** happening, and the peds dont look either they just blindly go. not to say blasting thru the lights is a good move either, but yaknow.

sucks that youre right there too, more rewarding for me to goto 9w than cp but the bridge isnt open at the odd hrs you have free

today i dropped my daughter off at school, went back home and cleaned my bottom bracket http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=407303 (i was surprised how dirty it was)
after that went for a ride around a huge park to try and beat my personal record :)

Another one here with bike withdrawl. Had to fly out for a week to visit family and really notice it. Don't fly home until Tuesday so I guess this is the mid-point. I would try renting but that will be a long shot in this town and renting fixed would be unimaginable. Always good to visit family, always good to go home.

Never rode it, and I wanted a MTB.

I found I always would rather ride the caad, so the leader hasn't seen action in months.

According to my excel sheet, I should be in the green after building the spesh I have in the works. I'm pretty excited.

TMonk 09-20-14 09:14 AM

What kinda spesh? MTB? Stumpy?
