Early next week, I am going to be cancelling my membership to LA fitness. I just learned that the public, community rec. center by my apartment has a bare bones weight room, and a pool with designated open lap swim hours.

I was excited to discover this, because
1) It's free, and
2) I enjoy feeling like a part of the community.

In my 5-minute stay earlier this afternoon, during which I located the office and the weight room, I had three separate nice conversations with locals about their day, what activity they were there for, or whatever.

Today I... got hired by FedEx. Feels so good to not be unemployed.

Are you the one who was talking about going homeless a couple months ago?

Either way, congrats! It's tough out there right now.

****** Crank Mob was great, I felt 18 again bike partying from sunset to sunrise. Decompression at the beach would be splendid today since it's so calm and slow out, but I'm at the shop for the last time evar!

Seattle was awesome as usual, the drivers there seem real angry at bikes on the road though. Dropped my keys on the final sprint to the finish, finished the race and went back and luckily found them, then had to hammer them out with my Ulock because they were bent from being run over.

Doing it right, both with the riding and the bragging.

Thanks, and that was me. Spent a few days in a ****ty Motel 6 until I found a friend that let me crash at his place. Thankfully, that worked out and looks like it'll be a semi-permanent arrangement. Now with the job I can actually pay him some rent and feel like I'm not a total freeloader.

I drove a car I bought for the first time that was inoperable that I fixed. It drives like dog****.

here on orange island apartment buildings are uncommon, mine (like a good chunk) is a basement apartment in a house

would actually be easier if i lived in brooklyn at this point, most of them have roof access

Owlex 09-22-14 03:59 PM

Today I bought a new pedal wrench and some grease for when the pedals I ordered get in.

Now hurry up, UPS...

today I witnessed a dick's sporting goods employee blow a tire right in the middle of the bikes section while assembling one of their new diamondbacks

Muffin Man 09-22-14 09:32 PM

Put a 120mm stem on the CAAD. Goddamn it feels good on the rollers right now. Going to try a real ride on wednesday when I have time

Leukybear 09-22-14 11:42 PM

As of today I own a caad; bad news for the paddywagon.
