Just been exploring through LA today on my mountain bike, getting used to it with gears. It's been fun having a new bike project but it is finished so quickly. Now I want lighter tires but my tires are still practically new. Satisfaction is fleeting.

I just put together an excel sheet for how much the ss evo costs, and oh my. I have a lot of money between my legs.

Definitely. The bike still had some kinks to be ironed out before any serious riding.

Actually didn't hurt as bad finishing this bike because I'm moving all the parts over instead of buying everything at once.

New shoe day. My Shimano shoes of 5 years have been feeling less and less comfortable lately. Sized to 50 from 48, feels good. http://i.imgur.com/GKRgH44.jpg

Finished the festive 500 with 45 flat miles today. First time I've done it, so I feel pretty good about it.

Dannihilator 01-01-16 12:49 AM

Happy new years.

Happy New Years peoples.
Wishing you all happiness, health and prosperity.
Many great rides, no flats and cool new bike stuff.

Sitting here, in my comfy chair, and it is 26 degrees outside. And, this is a Seattle 26 degrees (meaning the humidity makes it feel like 10-15 degrees compared to a low humidity area (I lived in that type of area for about 8 years). I am trying to get up the energy at the end of my vacation to go for a ride in this weather....

I just need to HTFU and get out there...... :)

sbdark 01-02-16 04:34 PM

Today I tasted dog poop.. I must've not seen the hidden surprise in a small grassy short cut. Spun onto my bike, on my face, and into my mouth.

Best part is I saved some for later, when I drank from my water bottle. :(

... had my brand new 2016 Honda Fit EX crashed/scraped by the dealership technician as he brought it back from the rear service bay. Will need body work and paint to repair the rear passenger door and right rear fender.

They're lucky that my wife wasn't there...really lucky.

That sucks!
I hope they made it back up to you besides setting the wrong right.

The heels of my new(used) carbon road shoes started to separate from the soles! Shoo Goo and C-clamps, here I come.

Leukybear 01-03-16 01:48 AM

Today, I rebuilt a thrift store found $5 "broken" snap on 1/2 drive ratchet with new guts and it works like new. At a modest 32T, it's not as nice as my 80T ones but it's still nicer than a lot that's out there.

If shoo goo let's you down in the long run, try using barge's infinity or all purpose cement. A sneakerhead friend recommended the stuff when I salvaged a pair of lime/ blue genius 2's. He said it was "industrial grade" shoe goo.

Definitely. Shoe Goo has been great for me in the past but this might be different with the carbon sole.

Regulatori 01-03-16 07:58 AM

Shoe goo was the go to lifesaver for skate shoes back in the day.

I had so many Puma Clydes held together with Shoo goo....always around the outside of your small toe area where holes developed from ollies/kickflips.

Mumonkan 01-03-16 03:12 PM

i think im over pure road riding. every time i go out on the mtb im so satisfied pavement is like a joke to me
