Youre probably talking cruise control, which I dislike too. Having my foot hover over the brake is a lot more uncomfortable than having my foot on the gas.
Yeah I'm talking about EyeSight, it's just hard to give control over to the machines

I had never heard of her so I just looked her up. Only 45. Man that's way too young.

Throttle modulation and emergency braking is as much about control as are anti-lock brakes. This goes for any brand.

I have been trying to get throttle modulation and auto-braking to kick in and have been unable to do so, or unwilling to drive in a way that will activate it. After only a couple of days I'm convinced that it will activate only in situations where without it you are probably going to hit something - the "Oh ****!" moment.

Again, using anti-lock brakes as an example, how often do normal drivers feel anti-lock brakes "control" the brake pedal? You are probably in a panic situation already by the time anti-lock activates. Same deal here. 99.999% of the time its just a beep letting you know that you are getting too close.

I'd rather that than nothing. A bunch of new cars, hybrids in particular, have no mechanical connection from the steering wheel to the actual wheels.

F******ck that!

That's exactly what he means, "by wire" == "electronic only, not mechanical".

Today I trusted the sky instead of the weather report, and got drenched on my commute. I'm sorry weather report, I should have trusted you.

Wrong on both. Breasts give a more accurate reading

Rode down to the bank to cash a check, bought lunch, and bought stuff at my favorite LBS. No work, riding, and no rain. That makes for a good day.

Local Chinese place is pretty decent. Like their chicken lo mein, but not the sauce as it is really bland. Like their Szechuan chicken sauce but not the way they make it and what they put in it. Ordered chicken lo mein with the Szechuan sauce. Lady asked me if I am sure. Currently wolfing this down. Delicious!!!!
