When Cheryl was in the hospital one of the nurses gave me something in a "peel apart" foil pack. She said "Here, use this when you fall off your bike." I just stuck it in the meds basket.

If that doesn't sound like the Tegaderms stuff I can look and see what it is.

Today I sold my Leader. First bike I ever built with all new parts, and the only one I've ever sold.

And just stuck the fork back into my Affinity frame. Already scouring Craigslist for wheels to get this thing on the road again.

Today I'm finishing up the last 1,000 or so words of my last bloated critical literary essay ever and I'm graduating in three days and I wanna throw up.

Also, I went on a study-break with my uncle to the LBS and talked him into a new cdale. He's giving my dad his mid-2000's Trek (he gave me his 1986 560 Pro last summer, too!) so now I'll be living with a riding buddy. One a sad side note, this also means I'm moving back home for a few months. Shiiiiiii. Then again, at least I have somewhere to go.

I'm guessing that's an oil emulsion dressing the nurse gave her. They're usually in a foil peel pack, the oil tends to permeate plastic or paper. Good stuff.

Today i rode 33 miles, new record for me. 15 mph out, 18 back (downhill back, with a tailwind) after a break to eat and hydrate and loaf at a restaurant. When i got this bike in November i would never have thought that possible. Today I feel strong .

Completely spent now, however.

Thanks, man. I probably could have gone farther with better hydration/nutrition, maybe. Was offered some Gu and turned it down (dumb). For you long riders, when do you food/drink? The ride out was pretty intense such that i was breathing hard enough i didn't drink enough, i think.

What I don't get about the leg shaving thing is that when I end up with road rash it is on my hips, shoulders and elbows, never on the leg below the bib. Do you guys shave your hips?

I have road rash on my legs right now. Its annoying. The worst of it is on my side though, so relatively hair free.

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Today I put the new fork on, out with the unicrown poj, in with the surly steamroller fork.

Also picked up a pair of new bibs and got in a fun 40.

when u are surrounded by other riders at 30+mph and a pileup starts it can be difficult to fall gracefully
