Got in another 23 before dark. Feeling good.

ktaoabc 07-10-13 10:41 PM

Did 21 miles. My longest since I started riding again last week. Good ride, especially the last half where I kept a decent pace.

hairnet 07-10-13 10:54 PM

Today I test rode the Kona Unit for several hours. It and I performed well beyond my expectations on the fire road climbs and single track descent. This bike is amazing! :)

Today I got all indignant because I thought UC shipped me a rear caliper when I ordered a front. Then I realized I accidentally ordered a rear. Hi, I'm dumb.

Today I'm checking BF from San Jose Airport because my redeye flight back to NYC has been delayed for 3 hours.

But today I got the Full House theme song stuck in my head when i took this:

And then later drove to San Jose to scratch some records for this guy:

And then ate some Henry's Hi-Life chicken & ribs in an effort to fall asleep on the plane, which is now coming 3 hours later BUT I'M SLEEPY RIGHT MEOW

seau grateau 07-11-13 12:29 AM

got 1300' of climbing in before 10am!

some wanky **** on a tommaso augusta wearing a JJ's hat kept running the stoplights, then i'd kill him up the hills (i had gears, duh) and he'd catch up while i was waiting at the reds. he'd blow through them, i'd pass him again as soon as i started moving.

i nearly had to ulock some jetta ****hole in the face because he was so angry after watching the JJ's kid that he honked at me for being stopped in the bike lane/right turn lane. I nearly lost it.

Ahh, justified road rage. I hate rides like that.

Got a contract on a house. Inspection is on Saturday. I'm glad I mostly got all the bikes I want, cuz it'll be a loooong time before I can afford another.

johnnytheboy 07-11-13 02:57 PM

Leukybear 07-11-13 04:47 PM

Are you going to run them with a tubeless set up?

Dannihilator 07-11-13 08:06 PM

Today I busted the front wheel on the 930, braking surface failed. It didn't give much warning, wasn't showing any signs. So got a new wheel and put in 52 miles.

solipsist716 07-11-13 10:35 PM

Going to see Loma Prieta tomorrow. **** is gonna rock.

seau grateau 07-12-13 01:22 AM

I agree. I love the one I own but after a year of riding it the rails started creaking and I could never get the noise to go away. I still use it but now on my commuter.

how much do you weigh? interested to see how those hold up. shop-bro can get me a good price on those but i'm concerned about their durability...

Scrodzilla 07-12-13 07:29 AM

Today I walked to the shop instead of riding and noticed at least 90% of the people driving by me were looking at their phones. Keep up the good work, humanity.

Seriously I used to think it was confirmation bias but I swear 75% of cars on the road doing something stupid have a driver looking at or talking on a phone. God damn menace, almost worse than drunk driving because it's so prevalent.

hockeyteeth 07-12-13 08:07 AM

My buddy from Miami says it is frighteningly common to see people reading the newspaper while they drive down there. I realize that it isn't healthy to judge people by 10-second interactions but the angrier, more reactive side of me can't help deciding that majority of people aren't worth encountering at all.

On the shuttle home from the other day, I decided to play "count the people I see on phones/texting/whatevering-other-than-driving". I had to stop counting because it was so high. Seriously, wtf people? I kept track of gender as well. I'll keep that one to myself, but it was a noticeable gap, given that I stopped counting around 70. STOP DOING THIS PEOPLE. SERIOUSLY.

P.s. this was an ~hour long commute, in rush hour traffic on hwy 101 northbound.

Mumonkan 07-12-13 12:03 PM

today i rode around for 30 miles looking for threaded rivets at like 7 different hardware stores. apparently noones ever heard of them, even the really oldschool one that has all the weird things you cant find anywhere else.

also people that work in hardware stores are really ****ing weird.
