Olympic track points race is on NBCSN right now if anyone is interested.

Edit. It's over. Viviani, Cavendish, Hansen.

Lots of ways. Could just be a manufacturing defect, maybe got overstressed when you hit a pothole, overinflation, weather deterioration if it's a cotton casing, etc. I used to see this a lot with really cheap training tubulars.

Took the MX Leader for its first cruise tonight. Feels incredible. Still gotta tweak the derailleurs/shifting a bit.

The Mrs. decided she wanted to ride to work today, she asked if I could go with her since it was her first time riding to work. 9ish miles one way, mixed trail and streets. Her chain fell off at least 3 times, and then I had the unfortunate pleasure of watching her come to a stop during an uphill because of the chain falling off and just toppling over onto the sidewalk. A bruised elbow and a purple butt cheek later she said that biking isn't for her.

I have failed.

That fork has a beautiful taper-to-bend ratio. It looks elegant and strong at the same time. Green tires rock with the green paint accents.

Sad.

I've been slowing chipping away at my better half to ride more. Just started riding to work on her own and enjoys it. Here's to hoping she has enough good experiences to get addicted.

On another note. That MerckX is so rad.

Happy birthday Scrod.

Today I got called for a second interview! Anyone ever eat at City Hall restaurant? The owner and Chef closed it last year and will be opening a wine shop in the World trade center mall.

Today I learned that coaster brake hubs are very light.

Shimano CB-E110 Coaster brake hub including all hardware and 16T cog: 805 grams.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dura-Ace 7710 track hub not including lock ring: 298 grams.
White Industries 16T freewheel: 177 grams.
Paul Canti lever: 137 grams.
Tektro R540 caliper: 164 grams
Jagwire cable/housing: 85 grams
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: 861 grams

A bit surprised by that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coaster $23.00
Other setup + $330.00

I just got back from 3.5 days in Lahaina, Maui. Amazing. Every morning, we drove north (onto the rainy side) and hiked a bunch through misty forest or explored treacherous rocky coastline. In the evenings, we would cruise back to Lahaina and do beach stuff: snorkeling, swimming, eating and drinking beers.

My gf has a sister that lives there so we had accommodations and local pro-tips. If I brought (or rented) a bike, I could spend 1-2 weeks there no problem. Haleakala is a bucket list ride for sure.

HB Mr. Zilla.

Today I bought new bottles. Went on the Wednesday group ride. Failed to clip in at the start of a king of the hill with a beer on the line. Bout died. Ate free pizza the brewery bought when we got back. Solid day.
