On my edge 800 and 810 it would consistently under-report elevation by several hundred feet in a 20 mile ride, and almost 1k on longer rides, so I got in the habit of correcting, but new garmin is pretty accurate now, so I'll just leave the elevation from here on out.

I also just passed 4k miles on the new evo, so thats pretty cool.

Based on Muffin's pics, riding up to the Lick observatory is one of his favorites. Oh and convex safety mirrors.

Today I went on a social MTB ride with some buddies. Going up a steep rocky climb one of them took a bad line and lost his balance trying to overtake me. Immediately he shared the love by leaning on to me which caused me to lose mine as well. I now have a bruise on my chest that's the exact size of the grips on my bars which sung over and hit me during the communal fall.

I'm in a funk and haven't ridden in 3 days. Just not feeling it at the moment. I'm way under my miles for the year. Think I'm just going to take it easy and focus on 2017.

don't force if it doesn't feel right.

I skipped my ride today due to some random IT band pain outside my left knee. It's iffy and I probably could ride, but I'd rather not risk it.

Today was supposed to be the last big day of a 3 week block before I took it easy next week. I'm bummed I didn't ride and looking at 12 hrs this week vs. 17, but I feel I made the right call. It may have been my first 300+ mi week in years, but it wasn't right. Maybe next month.

I was on track for a 10k mile year, then i hit a funk in august and now im only at 4300, totally fine with that. I had a lot of fun riding bikes this year and im focusing more on the fun side of bikes and not so much the speed or distance factors

Bah, I'm jealous of your "funk"s as I can't ride until my leg tattoo is done.

Well, Colin does all his talking off the field and the 49ers are 1 and 9. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott does all his talking on the field and the Cowboys are 10 and 1.

I am currently down on my miles for the first time in 3 years since I started actively tracking them. The weather has played a huge part in it this year, and I have only ridden 3896 miles so far. My goal was 6000 but there is no chance of that happening. After a bad wreck in the rain earlier this year, my desire to ride in wet conditions has diminished. We have had a lot of rainy days, mist, damp, etc that just have me opting for a 4 wheel commute instead. Hoping to clear 4000 by the end of the year.

Tomorrow looks to be halfway decent at least, will get out and put some miles in.

Hamilton sucks most of the year when it's hot and sunny, but during the winter/spring when it usually stays under 75 deg,I ride up Hamilton more because it's just so convenient and is a decent amount of climbing and miles. I much prefer the climbs on the west side of the peninsula for the scenery and varied terrain.

Only 108 miles and 9000-ish feet? I guess everyone's entitled to a lazy day now and then.

I enjoyed some football last weekend. Went down to SLC to see the Ducks beat the Utes. Pretty sweet view from nosebleed there.

Today I found myself sitting on the couch for hours watching dumb TV shows with my kids and feeling like a slug.

I decided to turn that around by going for a run. I ended up doing 14.3 miles, a personal record.

I find mileage goals arbitrary and to a certain extent, are out of my control. Injury, weather, life changes, all get in the way.

My goal was to get comfortable riding metrics regularly. I think I've met that goal.

Today I decided that tomorrow I will ride out about 13 miles to meet up at the local Sheriff's office and do an 18 mile memorial group ride. They do one for every LEO that is killed in the line of duty, and this happened this past Tuesday night.
